You can find so many amenities in Sun Lakes it's almost impossible to list them all but here is a brief list. One of the most common activities is of course golf! Then, how about tennis, dance, bingo, bridge, bowling, swimming, hiking, biking, fishing, fitness training and much, much more. If you have an interest you enjoy Sun Lakes in all probability has it!
Located outside the development just a short distance is an array of shopping and stores including a Bashas grocery store, CVS Pharmacy, True Value hardware store, medical facilities, church's and a number of small shopping centers. Downtown Phoenix is a short 24 miles away for those Phoenix Suns basketball games and Diamondback baseball games.
In the last several years, as most people are aware, Phoenix area real estate values have dropped dramatically. The distinctive thing about Sun Lakes, as well as most other retirement/golf communities in the Phoenix area, is that home values have held up reasonably well taking into account what has happened to other Phoenix area communities. Sun Lakes home prices are at this time around the same as they were 4 years ago and seem to be holding steady. With that said it's a pretty good period to purchase a home in the Sun Lakes neighborhood, particularly if you are financing given the present state of interest rates.
If you want to have a winter home it's hard to beat day time temperatures in the 70's and night temperatures in the 40's. An abundance of sunshine, a large amount of activities and gorgeous grounds... if you are considering buying a winter home you owe it to yourself to check out Sun Lakes Arizona!
